The color of orange The color orange is power. The color orange is energy. Many times in dreams you have the color orange and it also can mean danger. In nature, when you see black and orange it most likely means great danger. Many butterflies are black and orange. Birds know not to taste the monarch butterfly for if they do, it is most certain death. Similar with others insects, but more so with the monarch. The energy mentioned above very well interpreted into your dream could be the following: Anger, bitterness, life in jeopardy, and even possible death, especially if black is with it.

The flower called foxglove Did you know the flower on the front of this card is used for the treating of heart ailments? Though this entire plant is toxic and has been called “Witches Glove” it is used wisely in the health field to aide in physical healing. The internet has vast information on this herb/flower. Also with having it growing in your yard, remember whether it is a child, cat or dog, it can and is fatal. It has been reported that toddlers have drank the old water in a vase and have died because of it. Wikipedia is an excellent website to learn the facts of everything in this world. Space does not permit me to share the dozens of facts that are so mind boggling of this plant. It grows very well here in San Diego. Sincerely, Nicole
The color of white. Though white may be an absence of color, well white has the meaning frequently of purity. What is purity… it can be the opposite of what is believed to be unclean, sinful, or otherwise undesirable situations. If a community lives with a strong sense of solidarity, and if one individual violates a taboo, the whole community may feel itself menaced until the violator is purified. To be baptized is an action of purification, as is fasting, prayer, and confession. May we all become pure for the right reasons and know what we believe and why.
Praying Mantis The praying mantis is quite remarkable. They are a predator of other insects and love to hang out close to flowers so as to grab a nectar seeking bugs to dine on. Females carry eggs and after the eggs hatch the young ones scatter quickly for they can be quite cannibalistic and they do love their territories. It has been documented that when the praying mantis copulate, the female can quite often eat the head of the male. They also have been seen eating hummingbirds! I just love how this insect turns, or swivels its head to look at you. It is almost as if they can tell what you are thinking… TOO COOL! This picture was taken in my garden in the suburbs of San Diego
Watsonia Watsonia is a genus of the Iridaceae, subfamily Ixioideae, with 52 species in southern Africa according to the recent revision by Goldblatt (1989). They are all perennial herbs growing from corms and producing erect spikes of showy flowers. Several species have been introduced here in the last century and have become familiar garden plants in temperate Australia, although they are now neglected by the nursery industry. I love these and hope you do too! The pink is just marvelous! They grow just wonderfully here in San Diego!
Beauty surrounds us all and sometimes we
have to open our eyes and spirit to that
beauty. I love the term plethora to describe so
many or so much of an item.  Intense is
another term of beauty that surrounds us. Yes
intense beauty and a plethora of it as well
The Water Lily Water Lilies; they thrive in small garden ponds, pots and containers, and bring life to a water garden. Water lilies have their foliage and flowers atop the surface of the water, though their roots dive down into the soil below. Water lilies do not live in running or moving water, but must have still water to survive. Most water lilies are pollinated by beetle bugs. When the flower is ready to release its seeds, up to 2,000 seeds are released from each fruit. Air pockets keep the seed pods afloat. They are then dispersed by water currents or by water birds that eat them. As they become waterlogged, they sink into the mud to germinate. Rhizomes also are a way water lilies are spread. Oh make sure you visit Balboa Park here in San Diego for there you will see an inescapable site of the most glorious water lilies!!

Anthurium As I look upon this beauty of a flower, my mind thinks of many an item. The shape of a heart is before me. Anthurium, also called the flamingo flower or the pig-tail plant, is related to the spathyphyllum and the calla-lily. It bears a large colorful bract called a spathe. At one side of the spathe is a long straight or curved appendage (sitta) called a spadix. It is this that draws me to this nearly indescribable bloom. There are two types of anthuriums — the one that put forth significant ‘flowers’ are the so-called flowering species. Because of their interesting spathes. The leafy species have magnificent leaves which look like a stag-head. Seeing them sway with the wind is a sight in itself. This picture was taken here in San Diego.

The color yellow Yellow can mean so many things, from being afraid, (being yellow), to joy. Many times if we look around us we can see a certain color and soak or meditate in or on that color. This little flower was found on cactus in a desert. I took it as weeping lasts for a night, but joy will come in the morning. You could be in a desert presently, hot and sticky, but take a look around you and be aware of what you might glean from your surroundings.

Agapanthus These plants seem to be everywhere here in San Diego! Look in the middle of parkways. They come in purple and white and you can intermix them. They love sun and shade so you can’t go wrong. The blooms on these flowers last longer than most other perennials. You can combine these with low growing flowers and make a lovely landscape. For instance try it with belladonna lily or naked lady (which is an amaryllis) and also try marigolds. Some love to bring the perennial phlox in or even the poker Plant. In bouquets, use cut agapanthus flower with the blooms of sea lavender. Also hummingbirds just love these nectar filled blooms of any col
